UE3 - UT3 Mapping Hints And Tips

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Designing
1. Plan it out. Whether it be on paper, MSPaint, or something else make sure you do. The map tends to come out a lot better. Planning is essential for professional mapping
2. Remeber to Save. but if the problem arises where the editor Crashes. there is an auto save feture so open the last edited file.
De-Bugging
1.Wright down any bugs glitches that you see in-game so you don.t forget any. when in the Editor just look at you list and easily see what has to be done

Finishing touches

Lighting
1. Dont change the color of more than one light if one has a Corona. It will Crash the Editor (UT2k4) (not sure about other UT's)
Mesh Placement

Pickup Placement
1. dont place all the Power full Pickups next door to each other
