Whatever happened to "Prey"

does anyone remember a game called "prey"? it was in production years ago before Half life , it was supposed to be this revolutionary game where you played a charachter called Talon brave, it was set on a gigantic spacship , the size of earth , this was divided up into different zones for different species, I remember it was supposed to be fully interactive , you could destroy everything realistically and stuuf, Id appreciate any info you guys could dig up!

Unfortunatly, it was canned about a year ago, due to huge delays with Duke4 and Max Payne.
