OK, maybe two today:

This one was made purely in Photoshop. Not sure just how real it actually looks, but it does have a unique look to it.

Went to another college the other day and snapped a few images. It would seem doing textures of tree bark is much harder than originally thought. I'll get back on it soon as I figure it out.

Snapped a few pictures today after a video shoot. As i said to others when I arrived at the video shoot: "mmmmmmmm....textures...."

I finally had some time to get a few textures done. With the new lens I am now able to capture images with better clarity at high resolutions. With very low lens distortion I can finally make bricks look better. Since I have heard that my 3 brick texture was no good, I made a texture with a few more bricks.

A few of these where created using images, rather than something i simply took a picture of.

Finished up two textures today. The brick floor texture was especially nice since it was a combo of 12+ different images put together. The original image was 5200~x5200~ before it was downsized.

I wanted to ask those who have seen my textures to tell me which textures I should or should not release in my texture pack.

I will be releasing 30-35 of the best textures. Some might be resized so I don't completely kill todays gfx cards.

Tell me what sucks...and I'll keep them out. (yes, the 3 brick texture will not be used :) )
thx

Get rid of the seams in photoshop by using offset filter....and a variety of other tools like the patch tool, stamp tool, and regular cut/paste and high pass when needed.

Takes a lot of time :)

The floor textures are nice

Some more "base" and "ceiling" style ones perhaps, I always wanted more decent textures of those in UT.

Oh... any kind of photoshop? I'm using Ability Paintshop. Will that do good?

Photoshop is the industry standard for graphic design. There are other programs out there like PSP that have similar capabilities. I'm not familiar with Paint shop Pro so I don't know if it will get the job done.

I use photo shop, but I have a freeware prog that can make images seamless, and do a few other small things.. it's cool b/c it loads quickly and doesn't crash.

*note uploaded textures were origionally 1024x1024 tga's w/ high detail level
I uber reduced them to cut load time on the thread;)

Mike these are good. I mostly use photosource when I make (made) textures, but I see you have some from scratch stuff there too. I find that to be rather difficult, but I think in the end it might yield better results. I can't figure out how they make everything so damn crisp in game, there's a certain style, really popular with skins for players/weapons that I really have no idea how to touch. Photosource textures are fun and effective, but to skin meshes, some of those clean borders and ragged edges that show up often in game would be an immense help to clarifying an objects shape.

Anyone shed somelight on that?

Incidentally, I found a texture goldmine here at my Grandparents Farm. If you guys need stuff, farms are the way to go. I have enough rust textures and trims, concrete, rock, brick, wood, bark and crap to last a lifetime. I doubled my photosource collection last week.
