"The Verge" has ongoing coverage of this attack. At least two dead, and a hundred injured. Terrible...just terrible.

My questions would be how the bombs got through and how anyone set them up without others knowing. People are starting to get chill and let their guard down.

we should be so thankful that the other bombs in the area failed to detonate.
police found at least 1 or 2 more that were unexploded. who knows what the damage would have been if the rest detonated as intended.

my brother works in Boston at AECOM.
sent him a text message as soon as we got the news. he's ok. was nowhere near the marathon. other people weren't so lucky of course...

People that do this do not understand: When you think you injecf fear, you bring out our courage. When you think you disorient us, you give us direction. We you think you cause division, you cause unity. We, are Americans and that is what we do! You on the other hand, are simple cowards. No more, no less.

A great comment from one of the sites but I fear this will only last for about a week or 2 before we go back to hating everyone with equal passion. Nowadays it seems to take something like this to actually have unity with one another.

Oklahoma City was about the IRS more or less.
that guy who flew his plane into the IRS building a couple years ago in Texas (was it Texas?) was certainly thinking the same thing.

it certainly wouldn't be the first time that a domestic / homegrown terrorist took his message about the government to the streets.

I apologize if it offends in some manner.

unless you're physically squeamish, it's not actually any more gruesome than your average slasher/horror or zombie flick. it's interesting how that works; how your brain can compartmentalize experiences for you. taking this particular case right in front of us, for example.

are those images too intense simply because you're aware that they're real?
you must have willingly consumed a thousand different displays of brutal violence over the years (movies, television). knowing that it's fake makes it easier to watch I guess? despite the level of detail and how realistically the gore is depicted.

just kind of interesting how that works.

I watched those 3 videos, but he didn't say why it's a hoax. Maybe I missed something, but does he just believe it was a hoax for no reason? Maybe he's just stupid. I don't get it.
