Warframe, the new free-to-play 'space ninja' third person shooter from our good friends at Digital Extremes, has surpassed the 1 million player mark. Pretty impressive! It is currently in open beta form and available on Steam.

Warframe has been gaining momentum as the next gen Free-to-Play title to watch since October when its Closed Beta began. Bringing a AAA quality gaming experience to the Free-to-Play market has been one of the goals for the development team from the outset. Between the impressive graphics, solid fine-tuned gameplay and regular content and feature updates, Warframe has more than exceeded fan and team expectations to date.

Attributing to its quick success, Digital Extremes has viewed the emerging Free-to-Play segment as a true opportunity to reconnect directly with gamers. Maintaining development transparency and regular interaction with its community is part of the team's design philosophy that has truly paid off in establishing a solid, loyal fan base that is growing in droves alongside the game.

I'm in the beta and its very unique. It has missions that work something like some UT gametypes then its something beyond nothing youve experienced. It has RPG elements and level gaining. It wanders the solar system and even includes the newly discovered planetoid Eris. Its playable without the perks. Some levels are really challenging and often you have to dungeon crawl. You can run into some very vicious enemies early in the experience. You mostly have 3 weapons at use at a time, swapping 2 is possible, but you always have the lance with its blade, whip right to your enemy and fling away, reminescent of Giants Citizen Kabuto.

I want to note, these are just games, not reality, the Boston Bombing is stupid.
