Strange... there is a similar image in the Ink Blot test present in character creation at the beginning of Fallout: New Vegas. The New Vegas community has had the same general idea regarding this pattern for some time. Obsidian also added a character in the Honest Hearts add-on that is a reference to the community's take on the pattern.

This character is an indirect reference to the inkblot test that takes place during character creation. A common opinion among players is that the final inkblot depicts "two bears high-fiving". There is a popular mod[1] available that changes one of the available choices to this, and the character is a direct reference to this mod[2].
