somewhere; sometime?
it's an impossibly stupid situation to begin with.

Palestinians already live there.
United Nations on dubious authority 'gives' the land to Israelis.
Israelis move in, Palestinians upset, Israelis cede small corner in appeasement.
appeasement doesn't work, Palestinians agitate, Israelis defend, back and forth, etc etc.

the only fair thing would be for Israelis to leave the land but they won't. it's perfectly understandable why Palestinians behave so offensively about it and they deserve to. Israel equally deserves to defend itself... but Israel doesn't equally deserve to be there in the first place. Israelis should agree that the United Nations did not have the power to grant the land to them to begin with.

but that will never happen. it's too late now. the whole thing is FUBAR.
either both sides will agree to live in peace and harmony and share the land (under an Israeli flag)... something that will never happen, or Israel will eventually start tactically nuking the most threatening areas of the Muslim world. this thing willy only escalate, it cannot deescalate according to the dogmas of both sides. it only gets worse until it comes to a head. either way, it's fuckin' fucked and it's all thanks to religion.

and politics.
but basically religion.

Israel equally deserves to defend itself.

This is the part where it seems people in the states aren't getting the whole story. Israel isn't defending itself - it has been proactively invading what remains of Palestine for nearly fifty years, annexing it bit-by-it.

Palestinians (particularly Hamas) never wanted Israel to exist to start with, and Israel won't seem to stop until they've occupied the entirety of Palestine. Neither party is willing to accept any other outcome.

The only way this is going to end any time soon, is with the complete obliteration of one, or both parties.

Hamas knows what they're doing, but so does the Israeli government.
Neither side wants any sort of peace, one being turbo religious dick-bags and the other the new nazis on the block.
Who pays the ultimate price? Every moderate Arab ever.

Yes, that's why Israel gave up Gaza, and forced all of the Israeli's there to relocate.

Your description just doesn't match up with reality. There's dispute over Jerusalem, and some extremists on the Israeli side are intent on colonizing everything. However, the Israeli government really doesn't want anything to do with Gaza and the West Bank. They only care in as much as it affects the safety of their citizens.

Those poor kids, always having to suffer the adult's insanity/hatred, stuck in between the crossfire.

This.

It also pains me that my country will do nothing to hold Israel accountable for the repeated shelling of shelters, schools, and hospitals. These acts should never be tolerated by any nation.
