Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.
you got anthing else running in the background? check everything that starts up with windows & disable anything you don't need.
virus progs can create random disk activity, disable it before playing.

could be a conflict with the new card.
i'm no expert on this type of thing but you could try:
1. check in device manager to see if you have a conflict [look for the yellow exclamation mark].
2. reinstall directx8 and the latest nvidia drivers [http://www.guru3d.com]
3. try reinstalling the card.
