Anyone Use X-Fire?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

i looked at my profile and to my surprise i have 256 people in my "network, that is my freinds, and freinds freinds" :p

and they should really add the list of players in a server on the server list, cuz if i wanna join a server through there, i wanna make sure those 4 people playing arent bots and its nice to see whos in a server :p (and if ur freind isnt in a server u cant see who are in there)

Good news for those of you paranoid about spyware (I know I am, and I have nothing to hide;) I ran a sniffer for a while with xfire running and I didn't see anything untoward.

This is in there. Click the button in the lower right of the window (it has an arrow-looking thingy on it), and the X-fire window expands. Now when you highlight a player in your list, the right-hand window pane displays all of the server properties including current player list and voice server properties as well (if they are on voice).

Edit: changed "lower left" to "lower right". Oops.

There's lots of good free stuff on the net.
Linux for one. :D

That was fun last night, although I managed to get the manta stuck inside the base on vCTF-BloodGulch twice.
We need a linux ver of this, even if it just show where your mates are and nothing else. I had to use the ol' buddly list last night.

Well, you know the motto of open source: you want it, you code it! That's why there are linux drivers for toasters and aibos.

THis is turning out to be a pretty nice tool.

Brizz, SlayerDragon, and CaptainKewl (and maybe one or two others) had some great matches last night. The Citadel game was "rock on" as usual (I still LOVE that map). That crappy map we played after that was kinda blah, and the teams were waaay unbalanced (score of 12-0 at one time), but there was some good action.

Anyhow, I'm liking the usefulness of XFire.

 yah that map was not good. When I hopped onto Red (got disconnected) we actually scored 4 points in 3 minutes :)

Yeah, you and that other dude moved over to red at about the same time. Before that, I had top score on Red, and my score was lower than the lowest score on blue! I had a bunch of morons on that team. A bunch of us got to the blue flag at about the same time. I took it, and ran off thinking I had a nice sized escort. I turned around, and about 4 or 5 of my teammates were simply standing there starring at the blue flag pedistal, waiting for me to be killed so they can take the flag.

This has been my #1 grip about pubs this last week.

BTW Brizz - that headshot on Citadel - it wasn't on purpose. I was actually trying to shoot your x-loc and get a telefrag. You just happened to translocate a split second before I thought you would! But that can be our secret. ;)
