Are there any web sites that discuss and/or outline real military tactics, things that would be usefull in Infiltration (in otherwords, I don't need to know how best to use artillery, or how many thousands of men I need to take a city, or how to arange a fleet of ships).

I want to know how best to enter a room, how best to cover the other members of my team. Are there patterns that a 3 man unit should follow?
Ya know, the kind of stuff they teach Marines in advanced infantry school or stuff the SAS learn in training.

If INF 2.8 is going to be realistic, I imagine real-world tactics will be effective there.

I think the best tactic (and everybody knows this really) for any size team is run in zigzags to avoid shots.

When you're clearing a room, start at the inner side (inner side meaning the side of the door closest to the center of the building, not in the room itself) of the door and then jump across the door and come to a crouch on the outer side, and open fire sweeping across the room. Another man should immediately throw a frag grenade in, and then come up behind you and pick the survivors off with you giving cover fire.

For a three man team, you basically just want a point man, a middle man, and a rear guard. The point man pays attention to what's ahead of you, the middle man looks to the sides, and the guy taking up the back sweeps your six.

Really, when working tactically, its just common sense. Don't do anything stupid and you should come out in one piece.

Yeah, most if it is common sense, but I'd like to be able to tell my team members (or be told by the team leader) to execute formation X and they would know exactly what to do.

Plus it would be cool to know all that stuff anyway.

Try to get a clan, or something. Clans always help, cause i remember playing an old game where they had preset tactics and formations. It worked awesome. Anyway, if you want i can try to get INF working, and we can get on SOB or you could just write up some tactics and test them with a team.

Oh well. =\
