The new master server patch

I have installed it and it works. I kept my same player names since Gametracker still works.

Online player number have been up since the UT4 anouncement. I will switch to UT4 when it's ready.

Too bad about stats and friends. GameSpy abandoned all the games. This should be a lessons learned. Never trust a 3rd party like that again.

Epics UT3 forums has the link to the new UT3.exe zip file and more info for those who still play online.

I renamed my old ut3.exe file ut3.exe-old. I then copied the new ut3.exe file I extracted from the zip file to the correct location. I started UT3 and created a login.

I installed the DVD version and have win7, so the file had to go here, C:\Program Files (x86)\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe

With win7, Steam places it here, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe.

According to the Epic Games UT3 Official thread, Gamespy will turn off 12 am July 1 or midnight June 30. After that time, unpatches games will not see any servers in the browser.

If you do not instal the patch, after that cut off, you may still be able to join servers via history if they have not changed their IP address. But your server browser will have show a ping of 9999 for everything listed in history and Favs. I believe you can also join by typing in the servers IP address via the command line after the cut off..

From what I read in the Official Epic Games UT3 thread, anti-virus programs and Win 8.0 and 8.1 have caused problems for some folks.

I see Beer Drinkers, War 2-3, Greed 1, Christian Carnage, Hedsteem, and other servers show up for me, so they all have the new server binary installed.

Just a note. The exectuble patch works exactly as previous patches. No recreation, it's just a new re-packaged patch. No custom code involved - only original official code by Epic.
It might help others to install the patch properly in the future.

A big thank you to Bubbaxm2, RattleSN4K3, and everyone else who worked on this for the community.

Steam has the patch, not sure when they will distribute it. Not much info on that in the official thread.
