Yeah, I know most of you hate Consoles, but I finnaly found the rare Xenogears! And this game kicks *** ! I think I am gonna save up for the PS2 instead of upgrade my computer. Sure computers are superior and all, but Playstations have GREAT games without the extra expense of new hardware. Well at least thats in my opinion.

game console's are fsck'd. whenever nintendo or sony or sega decide to upgrade, you have to upgrade with them and you have to buy new games as well since they aren't backwards-compatible. and the newer game consoles like the x-box are just like pc's anyway

considering the maker of the X-box is the king of PCs (atleast as far as software is concerned), what were you expecting? =]
i've actually tried PSX emulators with my legit games and the only one that they'd work on at all had no hardware emulation so needless to say it was very slow. i never did figure out how to get bleem! working

hmm, well thats whats gonna change, the new PS2 is gonna be backwards compatable. With a DVD player (I was gonna buy one for my TV anyway, but when I heard about the PS2, I decided to save up)
afgam, I've seen a lot of excuses why consoles are "inferior"... but that has got to be one of the dumbest reasons I've seen yet. Do you have any idea just how much x86 sucks because of it's "backwards compatibilty?" It's still CISC based; only has six general purpose registers; still has a 16 bit REAL mode in it's core... it REALLY REALLY sucks... it's a 1970's-circa chip with 80s and 90s-circa technology hacked on in the cheapest way possible... And really, how often do you play Microsoft Flight simulator 1.0, with it's 2bit vector-style graphics?
Okay... perhaps I'm being a little harsh... x86 is rather impressive in some respects... but PLEASE don't disregard consoles for such fruitless reasons...

consoles are my first love, and well i love them 
i would die without my playstation, and have my PS2 preordered the problem is, there is not a decent rpg i have found on pc. i am a big lover of sqaure, and have to say that Xenogears ROCKED MY NUTZ. the only problems i had with it, was that at the end there were some rather long story segments involving a hypnotic swinging amulet, scrolling text and still photos, as well as some strong religious under (or over) tones. EXCELLENT game, hands down. must have for RPG lovers

i have Xenogears but my first disc is in very bad shape and i cant get past a thing near the end of the first disc because the game locks up..
But pc they dont have many good rpgs. the best one i have seen is proabably diablo
because i dont count in FF7 & FF8 because they are converted from the PS.

errrmmm .... good rpgs ... try Baldurs Gate, Planescape Torment, Ultima 7, System shock 2.
I'm currently waiting eagerly for neverwinter nights, that ones going to kick arse ..
Hell, I've still got the old SSI gold box series, anyone else remember Pools Of Raidence, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades and Pools of Darkness?
