Need help with an IE 4.0 setting

I am helping my parents get on the internet. They got an old computer for free and the IE settings are a bit messed up.

When I bring up any web page the background does not display. Is there a setting in IE that prevents backgrounds from downloading with the rest of the page?

go to tools, internet options and then click on the advance tab, you might be able to find something their.

other then that i cant really help you because I dont know IE 4.0

... and no one recommended upgrading to IE6? It's not a very big download, and makes IE ... umm, a bit more bearable. Or stick Mozilla on there.
