Southern Cali LAN

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where is it?

Ownij LAN Party is being hosted out of the HatLAN Facilility located at:
3148 East La Palma Ave., Unit M
Anaheim, CA 92806

When is it?

The LAN will be on August 4th, 2001.

What time does it Start?

Lan will start promptly at 10am.

What time does it end?

LAN will end promptly at 10am the following Sunday.

Will we feed you?

Damn right. BBQ Lunch and Pizza Dinner.
Nachos and Salsa to nosh on until they run out.

When are the tournies?

Check the tournament schedule link to find out time of tournies. Please try to be there for the tourney you wish to compete. Just like school if you absent you out of luck.

Does ownij own you?

Yes we do, please bring receipts.

What should you bring?

Computer. -- PLEASE scan for virii BEFORE you come to the LANs so that other users do not get affected and yourself. If your computer is found with a virus on it, it WILL be pulled from the network imediately. Other than that, you might want to defrag your harddrive before you come for optimal performance.

Monitor -- Clean all the pizza sauce off that box and bring it. It's kind of hard to frag people when you can't even see them.

NIC -- Your network interface card. Make sure it's properly working and setup for DHCP (which is the default).

100BaseT CAT 5 Cable -- Bring at least a 20 foot network cable with you. They're sold at most computers stores, such as BestBuy or CompUSA.

Games -- Bring the games you plan on playing with you. Don't worry if you don't have the latest update patches. They will be provided at the LAN. Leave all your "WaReZ" and "pr0n" at home. Software piracy is NOT tolerated. We won't question if the copy installed on your computer is valid or not. Don't come expecting to get free software, either.

Headphones -- You have to be able to hear the action going on. No speakers or subwoofers are allowed.

Money -- No money, no LAN! Bring enough money to pay the entrance fee plus extra money for pizza or other food (outside of what we are gonna feed you).

Power strip -- Although it's probably not needed, bring one anyway just in case.

Good attitude -- This is THE most important thing you could bring. The attitude is what makes or breaks a LAN. Come and enjoy yourself and have fun. Don't bother to come if you are a troublemaker, a whiner, or just plain in a bad mood. Don't think you won't get gorilla tossed if you are being a chode.

Patches

Here are the list of patches you will have to install to play on Ownij Servers. If you do not have these you can either connect to 64.30.212.76 via ftp, go to 'Game Patches' link, or wait til LAN and leech them from 'FTP'. We recommend you have all games patched and ready to roll before LAN, so you aren't stressin over installing but stressin over getting owned instead.

$20 if you register at least 3 days before and $25 at the door (provided that they don't sell out) This includes lunch and dinner so its not that bad of a deal and goes all night till 9 am the next day!
