EDIT: Sorry, didn't see your other post.

The second you start giving people a break they begin slacking off.

What happened to Bad.Mojo? Well...

Actually, it's very simple. First, he had computer problems(that is, computer access problems). Then he came back. Then he sort of faded away. Then he was gone completely. (Then there was much rejoicing) I don't remember exactly when he left, but it was sometime late last year.

Not Toledo!
I'm interested.

What do you consider me? Anewbie or an oldbie?

Not that I care about everyone's opinion of me, I know how I play and what I consider myself. I think (as a Sociologist) seeing a few people's comments on what they think of a person's status in a gaming community will be. Hell flame me, I don't care I just want to see some responses. :D

btw, lmao about the stuff about dakin! No offense, he's really good... but man rolflmao!!!

I've been quite active in the Online forum, but I found the flood of new posts in Suggestions and General intimidating for a while. As for playing online, my computer decided to fix itself yesterday, so if my connection ever gets above 30k, I'm back in business! Hope to see you all on the servers.

Indiana. Kill me please.
I've always thought that it took more than a 3 year to become a veteren of a game. Since Inf 2.8x is so radically different than 2.75, then, in a way, we are all newbies.

I think this argument is easily settled.

INF Online: It all comes down to consideration.

A veteran has the consideration to not exploit bugs, such as the lean bug, or auto-prone.

A newbie accidently exploits a bug, but stops after being informed of the bug, and that it is considered bad form to exploit it.

A n00b does it after being warned 5 times and pleads "1 d1d|\|t no!!!!"

Inf Forums.

A n00b can be anyone, regardless of how long they've been here, or how many posts they have.(remember, theres a difference between free speach and cheap talk.)

Deathren is probably a good example of this. Credit to him that he's cleaning up his act, but we have to look at his history. He's got quite a few posts under his belt, and has been here a while. He still acts/acted (depending on how you look at it) like a 12yr old. This makes him a n00b.

A newbie on the other hand, is someone who has only been here a short while, yet still behaves reasonably maturely, doesn't post porn, or pretend to be a pothead.

A veteran knows the ropes, knows the various mental issues that most people around here have, behaves themselves in a courteous manner (doesn't mean they can't flame total idiots *coughDjLethalcough*) and actually knows that 2.80 wasn't the first version of Inf released, nor was it as good as it is now.

Simple. No? :)

Lemme get this straight!

Ok, so MOSTLY I only post in Off Topic. I have to say I have started a pretty decent thread, and whatnot. That doesn't make me a vet/oldbie. Personally, I don't think it matters. I don't consider myself ANYTHING except a MEMBER OF THE INF COMMUNITY. Anyone who care about being anything other than that might need to rethink their purpose in this forum, not so say you are not welcome, everyone is . . . but that perhaps you are overlooking the basic purpose of this board, and the people in it. This isn't a pissing ground, this is a community of people gathered to discuss a game, and things that relate to it in some way, be it politics and foreign affairs, or some cool music or other. We all have things in common, and we all have differences, but that's what gives us our flavor . . . the fact that we are all so unique, but come here to meet on common grounds. Let me say this now : you guys are almost like family. I know it sounds kinda lame and all touchy-feely, but it's true. We are, in a way, more functional than a family, too. Let's keep it that way. Peace out!

if you hear the joints creak when they take a knee, they're an oldbie....

if you turn around 'cause you don't know what that sound is, yer a newbie......

if you bunny hop between the two of them, yer a n00b........
