Don Morti, from The Soulkeeper UT2004 modification, sent in 6 exclusive pics from the next update - which is planned to be released in two weeks. Here's a description of what you'll see in the pics:

That's Heragon a real evil character He stands in front of his throne and he is a new model we made. The concept we had for that guy is very old (since beginning of SK) but it was only recently we created him.

That's the first time ever we show our first person Artedian crossbow, which is carried by the Artedian Archer class... Something for the FPS fans, and it is certainly not our only FPS feature. The map where the screenshot was taken in, is also brand new and first time we release media for it.

Another shot of the fps crossbow, taken while player has just loaded a new bolt on it.

3rd person view of the Artedian archer holding the crossbow. First time ever being displayed on-line.

Same as above, with archer aiming. First time ever being displayed on-line.

Artedian Captain riding...a horse! Again, brand new stuff...same goes for the map the screenshot was taken in. First time ever being displayed on-line.

Really beautiful work, guys! This mod is definitely one to watch.

Am I missing something? How can you release an update when they've never released anything? Or is this just another beta testers anouncement?

Thanks everyone for all the great comments and support!! :)

Caravaggio, we mean a media update.

We haven't released anything yet due to the overwhelming amount of content that will be included in the game. We are working real hard to bring you a retail quality game, not just a TC mod -for free- and having RL getting in the way, it takes a bit longer than we anticipated.

Nevertheless things are progressing quite well, and as you can see in these 6 pics as well as in our next massive media update (as mentioned it will take place in 2 weeks) you will see for yourself the variety of features we have developed thus far.

We are not just building a fantasy game, but we are building a fantasy game that will appeal to FPS, RPG, 3rd person action, fantasy as well as stealth action fans.

Best Regards,

Looks fantastic guys :)

I remember seeing a small 'bloom effect' video a while back which also showcased ur characters run animations. His run looked very unnatural and ugly IMO.. hope it gets fixed cause I wouldn't want something like that ruining an awesome looking mod.

Hope the melee hit detection, sound fx, and animations are completely different then the beta. Looks great as usual.
was it completely necessary to post that here? everyone loves you because you got the beta, good for you i hope you feel great, but commenting publicly on a closed beta isnt exactly what you call helpful, with no other purpose than to put wrong ideas in peoples heads waiting for the finished product, or you just want a bit of attention

but anyways whinge aside it looks awesome and to have already come that far is quite a feat, good luck with the progress guys <3

It looks to be the best mod for UT2004 yet, if it could only be an mmorpg.

Looking good indeed. Factor VIII was in on some very early alpha/beta testing and I have to say...this mod shows some fantastic potential, looking foward to a public release.

Thanks once again for the great comments!

Exactly how is it played? Is it an open RPG like Morrowind or something else?

SK is not an RPG, but multiplayer action instead. Throw some mounts in it as well, and you get medieval multiplayer mayhem.

Our interview with PC Gamer, as well as the article they wrote, has plenty of details regarding our gameplay. Once the next issue of PC Gamer is published, we will post both the interview and the article on our site, so that everyone can read them.
