I'm going to start this next week, wish me luck! I heard the first 2 weeks is killer so i figure i will get the hard part out of the way before i start following everything this has to offer.
I'm not really sure what you mean by this. Do you mean before doing the diet stuff? If so: Don't do that. The first two weeks are killer because 95% of the people doing P90X haven't been doing hour long intense workouts. That's it.
The key to surviving is to TAKE IT EASY. This means that if you can do, let's say, 50 pushups, on the first set of pushups, only go to 25 (if that--20 may be a better place to start). The reason being: you'll be doing 2 sets of pushups, 2 sets of military pushups, 2 sets of wide angle pushups, 2 sets of decline pushups, 2 sets of diamond pushups and 2 sets of divebombers. Most people try to work as hard as they can (because they're idiots) and hurt themselves to the point that moving the next day is next to impossible (and doing an hour long workout beyond their limit). So as long as you take it easy (which means working without slacking off, but knowing your limits and playing it safe), the first 2 weeks aren't going to kill you.
If in the first week, you take it a little
too easy, you can easily up how much you do a little bit the next week. No problem, and it won't really take time off your ultimate goals. If in the first week you take it too hard, you're likely to simply quit. Try and follow the diet provided, as, again, most people aren't used to eating healthy, high protein, low sugar diets. If you're having trouble with the first phase of the diet, skip it and move to the second phase (which is better anyways as the first phase is VERY high-protein and low carbs that is fine for impressive seeming results, but isn't very sustainable and gives you less energy than a lower protein (but still all you need), higher carb (which gives you energy for your workouts) diet will--and both will help you lose essentially the same amount of weight/build muscle.
Good luck, and post us some before/after pics.
