Q's Panoramic Screenshot Thread - New Pics!
Hello everyone! I though I'd post another panorama screenshot thread dedicated to showing off some of the beautiful maps in UT3. We lost my original thread with quite a few screenshots due to the site's server crash, so it's a great time to start fresh and post some different shots.
Background: These are images created using multiple screenshots from various UT3 maps. Each panorama consists of up to 45 images, which are "stiched" together to form one large image. Many images are formed with a circular projection lense and can seem a bit distorted due to the curvature of the lense. Some images are originally rendered up to 10000x4500px in size. These are huge images! But, I've resized them to 1200px in height, so the average monitor can display them and somewhat see the completed image. Resizing also help me keep the file size to a minimum. I've selected 1200px so that most people can crop to use as desktop wallpapers if they'd like to. Most images have be touched-up a bit in Photoshop to sharpen, add various effects, and to bring out the contrast and color.
I can only upload up to four images per post, so I'll make another post just after this one, so I can add more images to the first page. Please comment! I'd love to hear your thoughts about UT3 maps, such as coloring, texturing, skies, and the general look of UT3's ability to render beautiful looking maps.
