Is there something wrong with the 3-round burst on the Sig? With the M16, if you just fire 1 or 2 bullets(usually 2) when set to burst, the next time you pull the trigger you only fire the remainder of the 3 round burst(2 bullets if you fired 1, 1 bullet if you fired 2). This is because of how the burst mechanism is designed. However, on the Sig, if you fire 1 or 2 bullets and fire again when set on burst mode, you always get a full 3 round burst. Is this a mistake? Or is the burst mechanism designed differently on the Sig?

You guessed right. The three-round burst on the Colt doesn't reset after you let go, meaning that the remainder of the burst is fired the next time you pull the trigger. Therefore you always have to wait until the burst is gone before releasing and pulling the trigger again. The Sig and H&K burst groups always fire a "fresh" burst after you let go, so that you won't have the problem of only one bullet coming coming out when there should be three (got me killed a few times at first).
