UE1 - UT LE_Spotlight lighting up the wrong actors

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

(Note: This is for Deus Ex)

I noticed that if I have a light whose LightEffect is LE_Spotlight, the spotlight effect looks fine on world geometry... but it still lights up actors outside its cone as if it were a normal light. Pawns, decorations, etc. are lit up to the light's radius, even if they're behind where the spotlight is actually pointing.

Obviously, this is rather poor behavior and looks weird. Is there some way around this?

Have you tried LE_StaticSpot? If you are lucky, that one also exists in Deus Ex and is implemented correctly. (Then again in UT2004 they probably share 100% of their code.)
