I'de like to point this out...

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I think we all know who everyone here is, and what place they have in the scheme of things. There's some people who haven't been here very long but are considered valuable members of the community and there are people who have been posting their inane bullshit here for a long long time.

When it all comes down to it regardless of how many posts someone had, most of us know what's really going on.

But then again, the post count and reg date do tell new people something. If I was new to a board and asked a question and someone with 40 posts flamed me but someone with 500 posts took the time to politly answer my question I would not think ill of the board. But if I got flames and didn't know whether or not the flamers where respected members of the community it might drive me off, and while I don't want any more idiots here, sometimes newbies that in the begining you think are idiots turn out to be valuable members.

Or maybe I've had too much Guinness again :p

I dont think Zund was talking about you 04, he was referring more to the whole post count/newbie thing in general.

Relax 04, I would count you among those who haven't been here that long and yet are a part of the community.

My post wasn't directed at anyone in specific.

that post count raising scheme is a pretty lame thing to do. zund has a point though, the numbers might be useful in showing the difference between a total newbie who doesn't know what's going on and a wise forum vet who might be helpful. how bout removing the post count and just showing the date and stars? :D

How about accepting that the system is flawed and not perfect, And just live with the fact that somebody can "Artificially" Raise their post count.

Changing it to any other way would be no better than what we already have. Zund said it best when he said that people around here know what is up.

Post count and Date registered should be taken into account when judging somebody, but then keep in mind about how those two factors can be altered(at least the post count). And that somebody can be here a long time w/o registering.

Basicly, look at all the factors b4 you deem somebody a jerk.
1. Register Date
2. Post count
3. Attitude
4. ?¿? You can figure the rest out.

As much as we would like it to be, One factor will not help you figure out how a person is.

If JB spamed in other forums I wouldn't think any less of him.
I have chilled with J.B in Games and in this forum, I have gotten to know him somewhat to where post count doesn't matter.

I understand where 04 is coming in...He kinda reminds me of B.M. or Pac, but instead of complaining about americans and other matters, 04 tackles the posting wannabe's.

oh well, 04, i understand, just don't let them get to you so much.

Ramblings...

Well I am surprised I actually read the whole thread :p
perhaps I am trying to hit 50 tonight :)
heck maybe if I start a flame war it will give me an excuse to post 5 more times...he he he

Like the one guy in here with NO LIFE said..
*looks in Zunds direction*
you guys know what's up.

And a newbie getting a responce from a lamer who tries to artificially add stars is going to know whats up when they read the post they got from the lamer.

Or maybe I am being a lamer for actually replying to this thread? who knows :)

"Or maybe I've had too much Guinness again"
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING MAN!!!
You can NEVER have too much Guinness

I don't think we should sterotype at all! whay dose the join date count? just as long as your INF player and like the game we know who you are. as long as we have a few level headed individauls and some clear cut rules on the board things should not be to bad.

this is not even the bad times yet, whatch what happends when INF gets populare, you will get all kinds a asshole regulars.
