Visit site
don't worry
the pics look like they just raised the resolution of the textures
it should be possible to play UT07 with a "slow" PC on low detail

I think with the way computers have speeded up this year you may need a decent machine to run it at acceptable settings. This year we get Dual core processers, later to be followed by Dual core gfx - not to forget NVidia's SLI. My guess at a spec would be something around really high spec now for minimum. Game aint coming out for 2 years and if you follow Moore's Law computers double in speed every 18 months.

Either way, you still have a lot of time to save before UT2007 [arrgg, have to get used to it] is released. Even if you don't have money to get the best, you should still be able to afford a current High-End Pc in 2006.

I'm gonna be saving up so I can get a new PC around the time it comes out. I'm not satisfied with the performance of my 2.8 GHz P4 and 9800 Pro as it is, so there's no way I'd try to play UT3 (I'm not saying UT2007 until the game ships with that title on the box) on it. I'm definitely going AMD next time. Hopefully something along the lines of dual-core 64-bit goodness if such a thing exists by then and dual ATI video cards...

The Dual cores are nearly out mate. There been reviews on them on numerous sites:

/edit
quote from Toms hardware guide
May 31 is going to be interesting day, as it brings the launch of dual core processors on the desktop. Of course the hyper-threaded Pentium Extreme Edition 840 is sparsely available today - for example, it can be found at Dell.......

According to Mike Capps at Epic in the Gamespot article, it's coming mid 2006...which is around a year away.
Not a lot of time to get saving.

Im guessing the minimum specs will be around:
- 2.2Ghz processor (Dual core reccomended)
- 10 Gigs Free HDD space (15 Reccomended)
- Radeon X600XT or GeForce 6600GT mininmum (Radeon R520/equivilient or better reccomended)
- 1 Gig ram (2 Reccomended)
- DVD Drive

This computer should be considered 'slow' by the time UT07 (Gah @ name) will come out

BTW UT07 is being devloped with dual core in mind.

A long long way from home...
Isn't it more likely to be "Hyperthreading recommended"? Dual core > hyperthreading but HT still can partially do what (theoretically) is asked?

x600 min my arse  i bet it'll still be ok on most cards that ut2004 is - not doing so would limit the potential buyers by a stupid amount - Less buyers = less money fro epic = not gonna happen
