Difference in sound quality?

Read somewhere that changing sound quality from 'high' to 'low' will improve the performance, especially when the game accesses the HD. Anyone have any experience with this?

(I know, I know, just try it and see what happens - I will, but right now I'm at the office and need to kill a little time /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
