  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Yep. It's true. I've been LPB for months now, and all of a sudden I'm hosed. I was getting a sub 50 ping to my work machine (where the LoL server is), and now I'm getting somewhere around 350 - 450 on average. I don't even want to tell you what I'm pinging at everywhere else.

So I'll just go ahead and rub elbows with my comrades in DSHell. You know who you are. Chryst, what's shaking bud? Anyone seen Jen around here?

Feck Covad and Internet Express. :)

Welcome to the fold. I had a similar experience last month, and it took them 2 weeks before they even figured out the problem.

Mine strikes me with incredibly frequent spikes of monstrous packet loss (30% and up), usually when a player gets really close, or there's lots of rockets or Flak flying around.

Oh well. It works well at least half of the time. :\

My saga continues: I called my ISP today to find out where they were at with getting my problem fixed. I had called them back on Friday, at which point they said they would open a trouble ticket with Covad and mail it to me over the weekend. Of course that didn't happen. Not a surprise to me, since I've seen them do this time and time again. When I asked the tech support moron about my trouble ticket he said it had either been closed, or never entered in the first place, and they couldn't tell one way or another. Not that it matters. Covad has absolutely ZERO avenue for customers to contact them. Even their automated phone system will tell you (after you've navigated through 4 fu&lt;king menus) to contact your ISP.

Grr. I pay way too much to have to deal with this kind of garbage. Looks like it's time for yet another angry email.

Thinking of getting DSL? Stay the hell away from Internet Express.

hmm.. just curious if anyone that has had covad that didn't experience any or little problems... i just got covad/flashcom dsl... they haven't installed it yet...

/me fears the worst..

Well, my very vocal complaining seemed to do the trick. They actually started working on it today. How long will it take to fix? No way for me to tell. I played the angry "I work at home and my job depends on this" angle to get the ball rolling. Then I managed to speak to a tech who actually knows what he's doing, and on top of that he plays UT. Once I told him that the absolutely best ping I could hope for with my fancy DSL was over 400, he was ready to do what he needed to to fix the problem. Us UT freaks need to stick together. :)

Cobra - I'm keeping good thoughts for you, my friend. I've had lots of problems, but Trolls is on Mindspring with Covad and she's never had a single issue to my knowledge.
