We used to be less than a month away from the release of Gearbox's "Gun-Porn" UE3 shooter, Borderlands, but now word comes that the PC version of the game is being delayed by six days for optimization.

We contacted 2K Games for an explanation on the slight delay for the game, and Charlie Sinhaseni, Senior PR Manager said, "We're optimizing the PC version which takes a few days longer than expected. Borderlands for PC will ship on October 26th."

This also applies to the International version of the game, now being pushed back to October 30th. The North America PS3 and 360 versions of the game will still hit shelves on October 20th and the International PS3 and 360 versions will still hit on October 23rd, as originally planned.

Still no official words from Gearbox themselves.

Guess not...

Got a response from a dev a few moments after post...
"We do not feature splitscreen on the PC platform."

Resident Evil 5 PC also won't have splitscreen support so that kinda sucks too.

Was hoping for a cool COOP game that doesn't require two PC's/ Copies to play.

I thought not having to share the screen w/ another player was an advantage.
Sure, but for a lot of games it'd be fun to plug my computer into my HDTV in the living room and play against someone split screen with two controllers instead of having to use two monitors with two computers and two copies of the game, most likely in two separate houses.

The game is probably optimized already. Instead of giving out the real reason, they chose to give this excuse, like the other companies. The delay would be more believable if it was announced during the beginning of the development.

Maybe it is EULA optimizing, or DRM fails and manages digital rights in funky way.

But i think they brainstorm about look of desktop icon.

Or you could run the game over two monitors, tilt them in an angle and each person gets their own screen to play on.
Something consoles can't do.

Think I should start calling it multiple screen gaming.
