DTASAL settings

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Looks like a landslide victory for standard DTAS! Yay! So... When do we begin?

to be realistic, you shouldnt be able to capture a flag from 15 meters anyways.it should be 1 meter or actually touching it.you cant capture a CD from that far so why DTAS

This is actually hardcoded in DTAS (online) and the alternative settings would have required usage (of less mature) YAGM or somebody coding something else.

If you (like Cleeus suggested) imagine the capturing scenario to be the placing of explosives or placing of a radio transmitter (i.e. for Airstrike) it actually makes sense the way it is.

CFA as it has been said about a million times before you are not capturing a flag. Capturing a flag is stupid.

All the flag is is a marker to indicate the area to secure. It is the area that is important not the flag. It is not DCTF but DTAS.

So 15m may seem like an arbitrary distance the guys didn't just pull that figure out of there ass. Various distances were tried and 15m just felt right.

I gotta agree with Ben here, I was there when DTAS was born, and I remember all the BS to get the right settings. 15 meters was made for a reason, but I wish it could be map adjusted... either way, I dont think in a matter of weeks we could make fair distances for all the maps we are gonna use in the DTASAL.
