ok for my first review is going to be DM-HouseOfHollywood
you can look at it 2 ways and get the same result for the review:
1.he was telling about how hollywood is hell and discribed it by making this map
2.hes just a mapping newbiesh dumbass
and now for the reviews
1.ok heres what seems to be the reason he did it like this,he was expressing how hollywood sucked
now to start from bottem to top
bottom-shows how it's hell (think lava and red=evil and satan color sort of theme),they suffer surprise attacks from the ppl above them and ppl respawning or exiting a portal there are screwed by the respawn killers who need little skill to kill the unsuspecting
middle (lower)-are the ppl in apartments,they jump on to the shield belt above the portal and beat the living **** out of the ppl on the bottom but to balance it a little they have a relly small chance of falling in the lava
upper-middle-they can go for the im-going-to-try-to-get-the-redeemer-but-fail-and-fall-into-the-lava-everytime-because-i-dont-have-a-translocator contest or the I-bet-i-can-get-into-those-portal-hallways-and-i-bet-95%-of-the-time-im-going-to-end-up-falling-into-the-lava-anyways
the ppl on top make hell for everyone else because they can succesfully get the redeemer with ease or just fall into the lava like everyone else
in the hallways we see the classic "I OWN!!!" type of graffiti (did i spell it right?) on the walls saying "i rule" "hamper is god" "hey doodz" and "holly-wood da dm king" (maybe om instead of dm the way he writes it) and there is a sniper friendly corner in the main room to take out anyone dumb enough to show thier tortured self
hmmm.... "hamper is god"?! lol what a newbie,that kind of thing gets ppl to stop playing your maps when you show "your my slave" type of treatment,the z-axis is rather creative (this is unreal tournament newbies,not REAL tournament) and ppl do think thats a bad thing in a map...lighting is good but that doesn't change the fact that this map just completly sucks
2.for you newbies who think maps should be rated by relism heres what the common reviewer might say; this map has no realism,item placement sucks,and graffiti (or however it's spelled) is in the hallways with portals that makes me want to kill the n00b that created this "map",on the bright side item placement is okay but this map just plain sucks,it's not worth the time to dl
