Can other Media Players play .IT formats?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I know it was said that the music files can be exported in a .IT format and played with Winamp. Can others like Musicmatch Jukebox, Real Jukebox, or Sonique play it too.

Do I have to "associate" this file type? I know I sound like a blundering novice, but I was just wondering.

You need a program called modplug, it plays mod files (which is what the UT Music files realy are) you should find it here http://www.castlex.com/modplug

then you can use it to write out .wav files that you can convert to .mp3 using blade encoder, you can get that here http://bladeenc.mp3.no/
(and I'd get the Razerblade front end for it, blade is all comand line)

I ripped all the UT songs to .mp3 (and at 192kb/s the whole thing is 143M, if you save them out at 128kb/s it should be somewhat smaller, but I like the better quality). I did it just to see if I could do it, but I find that I really like just listening to the music while I work (I don't listen while playing the game though)

Thanks a bunch man.

One question tho' Can the mod player just play the files in the umx format or does it have to be exported to the .IT format using UnrealED. Can the other rippers/encoders be used?
