Your opinion on Titan?

Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. Definitely fun, because it adds an extra element of chaos to the game. For a 'casual', mostly offline gamer like myself that's a very good thing, because chaos makes you forget that you're playing against dumb, predictable bots. One of the first times I tried this mut was on CTF Face with Greed, and at one point almost the entire enemy team turned Titan (lol @ the giant rats) and spawnraped us with ground slams behind our base (a ground slam will knock you right off the map there, so you keep falling to your death). Best fun I had in months, if not ever with UT3. 
It's ok for a huge ffa fun game, maybe once a week, but it got really really annoying in pub games for me :c

I like it for all the team games except TDM. The ability to time the transformation allows you to do some pretty creative things with it and it's balanced by the fact that Titans can't pick up anything or heal. Timed just right, they make a great flag or skull escort... or even just a formidable defense if the odds are suddenly stacked against you.
In deathmatch or TDM it's good for an occasional lol, but it's otherwise a bit annoying since just about everyone will get a chance to transform at least once a round.
I can see how "serious" players aren't going to like it, however, as they already get annoyed by vehicles.

Like hal, I think Titans only really doesn't work in DM and TDM. So far I've been having a ton of fun with it on the CTF pubs and FragBU!
That said, I don't think that it changes gameplay in a way that is good for competitive play. You're never going to see it on a ladder except as a gimmick, frankly.

I think in (T)DM you probably would have to combine this with a 'hunted'-style gametype (ie : only the 'hunted' could transform into a titan).
For every other team-based gametype the success/fun of Titan-mutator is probably related to the kind of map used.
As such maps can be designed with Titans/Behemoths in mind by making sure that only certain chokepoints are big enough for players to transform.
I think there's room for additional Titan-style mutators that give different advantages to players.
In a way this is what Adrenaline should have been like ...

That's what I felt last night in FragBU. It definitely works fairly well in the more objective games like CTF, but I don't see how it would be good in DM/TDM since it's a positive feedback loop like adrenaline was. I don't think it'll ever really catch on for competitive play but I don't think that was ever the intention.
I think it's a ridiculous childish non-sense and I hope it will be away from the servers soon.

Titan is definitely good fun. The only problem is becoming a behemoth often gets you trapped in a certain part of the map or a certain room, so you have to be careful where you use it. I only activate behemoth when my titan is about to die.
I'm a casual offliner and I think it's great. The most entertaining moments so far have been crashing to death through the big fan on Deimos, and discovering the ground smash attack by accident.

I'm an offliner, for ut3 a casual offliner. But UT99 i play more regularly so i'm a serious offliner there (Yeah, a hardcore offliner......

It is fun for a few rounds and some lulz. But it really is just as ridiculous as i imagined it would be and as a result i view it in the same way as i view stupid mutators such as "big head".
Adrenaline was better, but then again i don't like adrenaline either
Also just to go with what hal or darpulse or someoen said a few posts back: I stay away from the vehicle gametypes. I still enjoy them when i do play them cause vehicles are undeniably fun, but really when i want to play UT i want to play an arcadish shooter and so will lean towards the hardcore gametypes like ctf and deathmatch.
EPIC battlefields are fun every now and then, but i prefer the up close and personal side of the game.
But whatever, my opinion in short: The titan mutator is an enjoyable gimmick that i don't want to use unless i'm playing morbid where it is pretty much a requirement. Aside from that, it can get ****ed

It's such a blast playing with tons of people. I love having a big body guard and storming the base. I love to play bodyguard too! Morbid is a blast in the likes of "AndAction"; a map everyone loved to hate in UT. So far it hasn't gotten old. I'm laughing like hell and playing with some great people.
That said, I also love getting serious and going back to my beloved DM with no mods. Plain vanilla.
