2.9 bonus pack

Sorry Derelan, I did not understand your whole post, now I understand it better. Pointing to this thread.

Just one question: Do you plan do make a 2.91 version once? Where changes like a higher loadout-restriction (some people run out of loadout-places ;) ) ... are done, or is it possible to make the change mentioned above through a mutator?

It was said that a patch would be released if a bug or an issue was found after release that seriously messed up gameplay. As far as I can tell, no such bug or issue has been found. I think it's time to move on after the release of the coming weapons and maps and leave it up to this brilliant community to make weapons and other addons.

I agree with you Almost. Time to move on to the next project. However, I think if this is going to be such a massive update to the game's content, it should be given some consideration to call it 2.9.1 and the installer should be recompiled. It's a real pain to get new people interested, and then you have to point them to these forums and show them where to get all of the modifications/fixes/mutators/maps. Are there any plans to create a new installer? If it's not that hard, I imagine it would save new guys a lot of time.

Personally, I think Yurch's nades should be the default nades, simply because I think that UT flak is...well, it's UT flak.

Only problem I see is the lack of the rolling nades. Any plans to fix this Yurch?

And of course, I'd like to see UN17's socom fix added to the pack, which I have already explained to Beppo. ;)

Are the weapon collision adjustments included in this mutator?

I think the community would be very thankfull if SS assembled all the community stuff thats worth it (muators, maps, weapons, patches, ...) and created a 2.9.1 after some months.

Uhm... A lot of other games, including UT2KX have a "community bonus pack". Instead of asking Sentry to stuff fan-based material into their pack, maybe some of the non-coding, non-modelling folk can gather the communities best maps, muties and release a community bonus pack along with Sentry's final offering?

Just an idea, don't shoot me!

I'm afraid that type of view has been discussed many a time -PUNITORE-. Unfortunately it requires at least double the processing time, therefore kills FPS, therefore won't be an FPS anytime soon (ie. once we've got photorealistic graphics and our CPUs are still getting faster...) ;)

And it's also not realistic, because optics are adjusted to a certain distance i.e. you will hit with the Stg77 (Steyr Aug) the point where you aiming at if it is around 200 metres away.
And it was posted in another thread or even in this one, that the distances are too small in INF that you'd feel a difference, you'd think that you just did not hit because of lag ... and would get frustrated without knowing that it's a feature.

That's not entirely true. Take a look at the UT2k4 mod Red Orchestra, it has scopes like the one in the picture.

Also, for the UT engine check out the XM8 scope. I think duke did a great job on it. I wish all the scopes in INF were that way.

bahhh, don't try to find excuses, look at Far Cry engine or UT2004 one, now think that UT engine is created for pentium 500mhz, and think we have all at least a 2000mhz, it is possible add 10 different optics on screen and play at 60 FPS. the people just fear this feature. as they fear M16+ACOG+M203 or the "rambo" playstyle of run-turn-kill-repeat.
u confused " realistic and professional " with " making game balanced and allow NERDs play it without being umiliated ".
i think the original idea was the first one, but today i know the situation is the second one.

/me has a 566mhz and no money. Please keep the fps-eating features away until inf is recreated on a new platform and I can buy a 3 ghz rig secondhand ;)

i have M16, and it works perfectly. if they want add rifles, i am happy only if they introduce something new and different! don't need clones!

i proposed something about the optic, but they said : "this is not a wish list".
i just reply "ok. do the typical clone rifle". but wanted u know what this rifle should be, " in my opinion".byeZ

*PS: same for other weapons, i fear they will be clones of actual ones. just different model & skin.

**PS: DAMN i'm not asking the OICW!! and you know it should be there in a realistic game armory like INF. just asking a serious optics on weapons, and the possibility of still aim with ironsight with a rifle that has optic!

Um, i could comment on your posts, mention that fact that there are other ways to get a weapon ingame other than buggin Sentry about it, but instead ill just post this picture, along with a nice big cup of STFU.....then ill go back to MODELLING MY OWN WEAPONS.
