UE3 - UDK Setting up character as pawn

Hi,
I'm pretty new at this, but I'm trying to set up a skeletal mesh of a ball that I animated. I have the animtree, animset, and skeletal mesh. I'm using the kismet from the kismetTutorial_final.udk map that comes with the udk. I disconnected the gun and I'm trying to add my ball skeltal mesh as the player but I can't seem to figure out how to make the ball a mobileplaceable pawn that I can add to the area with arrow pointing at in the kismet pic below? Can anyone help me?
