UPDATE:
Everything seems to be back to normal. I'm actually quite sad about it. At first I thought seeing those high numbers was just affecting my judgement but after playing it for a while normally now I'm quite convinced that I really was getting a steady framerate of at least 200 in both Heatray and Snakebite when I had this issue. I'd actually like to know if there's a way recreate this effect! It was sooo smooth!!!!! I'm an fps addict so for me it actually made the game a lot more fun.
My favourite thing about it was the more pronounced motion blur effect.

When I start UT3 the entire menu system is extremely slow (not like a slow computer slow, more like slow-motion slow or the slomo console command)
Everything in the menu moves smoothly but slowly. The gameplay is also extremely slow... yet smooth and beautiful... and I'm getting anywhere from 400-900 frames per second according to stat fps!!!! At times I almost want to believe the readings because something about Heatray seems... better...
I actually set the slomo command to 9 to speed things up, it felt like normal ut3 gameplay but still I'm seeing no less than 500 fps in the readout.
I also have a simple slideshow screensaver that utilizies the video card, this also plays in slow motion for some reason.
I played quake 3 just now, now slowness in that.
Going to reboot and see what happens.
I'll go into more detail after I reboot.
What's the key to take screenshots in UT3 and where are the images saved?
I have a radeon 4800, intel quad core, 4 gigs of ram.

Ok, rebooted. Checked the screensaver, that's working like normal. Going to check ut3 now.
