I don't know what they would have done about the leaked oil, sure. But they've been better than good about capping the well, IMO.
Had they drilled the relief wells while drilling the main well, they probably could have stopped the leak in days.
. What on earth makes you think they have any motivation to save the Gulf's ecosystem? No oil company in history has ever been that conscientious.

It's true.Had they drilled the relief wells while drilling the main well, they probably could have stopped the leak in days.
That's actually a requirement for new wells in Canada. inefficientsocialistgovernmentlawlz.
I think this article sums it up. I remember reading about them putting the new cap on and thinking how long was it going to be before the bad news part of the equation hits? There is just a feeling of doubt and fatigue with the thing, making celebration a delayed one.no mention of them finally getting it sealed?
While obviously BP were the people doing the bulk of the work with the brunt of the efforts, it wasn't like the administration was sitting on their hands doing nothing and staring. How much did they really help? I would put my money on just a little bit, but it is the lovely, wonderful world of politics where every politician will take whatever percentage they can grab onto and claim their spot on the winning team.god, I swear Obama... "We" fixed it...
