System-Crash when changing to Windows-Desktop

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hi,

everytime I play Infiltration and change to the Windows-Desktop my System freezes. O.K. after realizing that it does so I don't change manually to the Desktop, but certain other applications force this. Is this true for all machines, or only for mine (new Laptop). Because I think I remember my old machine (PII 400 Mhz, Win98) did this without any problems.
Additionally, as the lasted development, I can't even change manually to the Windows-Desktop using Alt-Tab anymore.

Has anyone experienced similar things? Knows what might help?

Oh, and please no jokes aboute Sledgehammers and how to use them on Microsoft-Products :)

[insert favorite joke with sledgehammer and microsoft product here]
;)

it's pretty unpredictable what happens when you switch from a fullscreen app to the desktop. On some machines it works fine, on others, the whole system freezes, others get an annoying crosshair in the middle of the screen after the second switch, others have a taskbar on screen after the switch.

You can try other DirectX versions, other GFX drivers, other UT-OpenGL drivers, and other porn magazines on your machine - everything will have the same chance of success ;)

I had the same problem and the only solution was a different computer. ;) I'd try sacrificing a young farm animal of some sort.

Seriously, I never found a solution.
