I think I have enough editing skills to make a good map but I have never had any idea of what to make. I have been looking everywhere for ideas so thank you for yours. I like the 'Deep blue Sea' , Mayan/Aztec ideas.

Those are some pretty good ideas, I'm working on Broadside from Tribes, that will be a nice map, if I could ever get the textures.

You wanna know what scares me? That if done right, all of these ideas are possible.

If not you can go hog wild and make a T&L required map and make it for Q3a /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

I am actually making an Aircraft Carrier right now. It is to scale and designed after a very high detailed Model I have of one. (there will not be quite as much detail in the level though to save some frame rate)
It is comming along nicely.

T&L (transformations and lighting) is a quick way of saying geometry processors.

Read up on them at various hardware sites like Anandtech.

how about an atf assault on the branch davidian compound
or, dare i say, cops vs. trenchcoat mafia
at columbine high

i've recently been looking at old d&d maps
for ideas, theres a plethora of goodness in those dusty old pages

off topic:
does anyone have a good technique for caves? i pretty much build a cube, chop off sides w/ deintersect and daisy chain away.
it looks pretty nice but the polys add up quickly.

Eifel Tower? Easy just make a bunch of masked textures instead of actually making the peices. Then make invisible collision hulls to act as the girders.

See I told ya. A little ingenuity and the Unreal engine will love ya for it. And you'll get bonus points for actually thinking at Nali City.

Ok, so you win bonus points with the players by giving them somewhere familiar to play without making it so that you need a $10,000 workstation on crack to play it /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
