Heat - 9.5/10

I really love this movie. To have that many great actors in a film is good. What really did it for me was the shootout after the robbery. Only thing I didnt like abou the movie was what eventually happened with Val Kilmer's character. (If you dont know, watch it)

The cinematography in the chase through Los Angeles and Tommy Lee Jones's witt makes up for Linda Hamiltons bad acting. The film fails on the plot as the car has little to do with the film whatsoever.

But for a £1 dvd i'm not complaining.

I would have to give a movie without a title a lesser score though, frankly.

The new version of The Producers: 8.5/10

I made the mistake of watching this while I had a slight headache. By the end, I had a real pounding headache from two hours of nearly perpetual grinning. There's a lot of fun to be had on the surface, but if you pay close attention, it just gets to much better. Things like one of the show posters in Max's office being for 'The Breaking Wind' are really what made this great for me.

Shoot em' up - WTF/10 - 5.8/10

First of all, uber non-sense is all I can describe that thing. I must admit the movie got me entertained in some parts of the view, but seriously, what is this junk? Like one man army can deal all of that, like just take the apartments part where he go down the rope, or even before that. Mr carrot aimbot. I'll tell you what, someone points you, and shot. You die, there was always someone shoting at him from behind even in the tightest of corridors, he still didn't got shot. You don't pay all geared up dudes to get one-shoted. Oh and please don't get me started on the parachute fall. Or yet the camera part where the guy tells him to surrender - drop his weapon, like you expected this one so much... Yes, he died from another trap.

It's a pile of junk, but funny saves it all.

National Treasure : The Book Of Secrets 8.5/10

This was actually a pretty entertaining story. Most of it is pretty far fetched but for an action adventure it was fun. Ed Harris does an awesome job like usual and Nic Cage's partner in crime was pretty funny. I think it was better then the first one.

Rambo - 6.5/10

Better than I was expecting. And a lot more violent than the previous films. My how shoot 'em ups have changed since the 80s. It's a standard issue Rambo story rather than the "closure" chapter it should have probably been, but at least it nails it on the action. The parts that don't work are when morality creeps its way into the dialogue. There's just no place for it in a Rambo film, and while the movie handles the "right and wrong" character arcs between Rambo and the Christian missionaries he escorts and then has to rescue about as blandly as you'd expect, it doesn't really take too much time and before you know it people are getting shot up again. It has all the character types you'll need in an action movie; The quietly brooding Hero, the useless female character who lays in the fetal position whimpering when she's not being rescued, the self-righteous character who only exists to either get punched in the face or have an ironic moment, and lots and lots of explosions. The antagonists kinda sucked. Basically Sly kills about a hundred faceless brown army guys who are led by a faceless brown army guy who is distinguished only by the military ribbons on his chest.

It was better than Part 3 and more entertaining than Part 2. First Blood is still the best the Rambo movies have to offer.

The Mechanik - 7.5/10
Fantastic action movie directed by, and starring Dolph Lundgren. Let me tell you, that man knows what he's doing.
He's also my favourite action hero(or villain), since he's one of the few who can actually act. :p

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 9.5/10

Got to second this i saw this previewed last week. It's a damned fine film and truelly Tim Burton is mastering his art once again. (I only say this because of Planet of the apes, everything else is grade A class)
A great story, an insanely gorey story and an enjoyable story untill the last. The fantasy sequence of the characters on holiday is pure genius.

The Kingdom - 8.4/10

Sunshine (9/10) - Another great Danny Boyle film. The only con is the "fifth crewmember" was overdone and didn't fit the rest of the movie that well.

Didn't fit that well? No offence, It was a pain to watch all the non-sense. Seriously one of the worse movies I have seen last year. That and Crank.
