UE3 - UDK Assigning Materials in Actor Class Browser

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

So, I have my models imported into UDK. How do I go about assigning a material to that mesh by default every time it's placed?

Right now I have to drop it into the scene, assign the material, and go from there. Very cumbersome. If I could assign it in the ACB, and it came into the scene with that material by default, well, that would speed up my mapping a bit.

Am I missing something in the Static Mesh Editor? Should I have something other than a standard 3dsmax material before exporting the .ASE? Inquiring minds want to know!

edit:LODInfo> [0] > elements > Material > highlight material, use.

Man it's been too long since I've mapped...
