All the unreal engine games forums on BU are a ghosttown. :(

That's cos all the long-time members are not interested in talking about UT any more and not yet interested in talking about U2/UT2/UC. I feel lonely over there. :(

And since BU is rather well hidden now with no front/news page, we get virtually no newbies coming in here to ask those well-known newbie questions. :(

Here's what the stats say:

Week 06 (February 2002) 120
Week 05 (February 2002) 108

Week 03 (January 2002) 115
Week 02 (January 2002) 101
Week 01 (January 2002) 145
Week 00 (January 2002) 100
Week 53 (December 2001) 26
Week 52 (December 2001) 114
Week 51 (December 2001) 97
Week 50 (December 2001) 87
Week 49 (December 2001) 81

So, they're coming in to be sure. Actually they're coming in every bit as fast as they did at PU. They just aren't talking about Unreal/UT/UT2/U2. They're in OT and in mod/hosted site forums.

I think that getting our news page up will help get people into U game Forums, but I also think that a demo or release will do that even better.

I hear you. I miss the old days when UT was the hot topic.

Fact is though... look at almost *any* Unreal Forum and they're mostly inactive or mostly OT. Even Infogrames Official Unreal 2 Forum (which is the most active U2 Forum at the moment) is OT (or flames) a lot of the times.

There are still some real active clan forums around, but again much of it is OT or pertains mainly to their clan/ladder.

It really must be the hosted forums, because the regular Unreal forums are DEAD. :(

In defense of that forum I have to say that it's mostly on topic more or less (counting general computer games / hardware threads as "on topic"). It's only during times when there are very few U2 related news that OT/flames take over. Unfortunatly that has been the case during the last month. :(
