monitor /voodoo2 refresh rates

p3 667eb soyo apollo 133mb,2 12meg voodoo2's
sceptre p73 17' monitor....default refresh rate for the voodoo2's @640x480 is 60hz,my monitor supports upto 85 i think,using a program called "voodoo2 tweaker" i set the refresh rate to 120hz @640x480 and gained 4 to 6 frames per second,everything looked great and ran fine....my question is,am i burning up my monitor running 120hz?
