Always took for granted how fun and entertaining their stuff was, in that I never collected or went out of my way to dl, or have their stuff on tap... but I NEVER skipped out or turned their stuff down. They always provided music that inspired good times, laughs and fun with friends for an entire generation. RIP you insanely creative, awesome fun loving artist you! The music industry has another void it will never fill.

Sad. Beastie Boys remember me on my skateboarding times during the 90's. Even though I was mostly into metal and punk, the Beastie Boys were a nice break from all the metal stuff.

Put me on that list too - I couldn't stand them the moment they dropped onto the scene.

I think that was one of the best things about them. Even if you were into metal, punk, rock etc, The Beastie Boys always had place in your album collection. I know they did in mine.

While the Beastie Boys inhabited a completely, utterly different end of the musical spectrum to what I usually listen to, I've always had massive respect for them

John Peel introduced me to the Beastie Boys one evening in '86 by starting his show with, 'No Sleep 'till Brooklyn'. Triple win: Beastie Boys, DefJam, Kerry King/Slayer.
RIP MCA
