Losing Hope For 2g iPod Touch

Hello all, I have a 2g iPod touch that decided it was going to stop working.

I was driving along one day with it plugged into the cd deck in my car when i unplugged it, it shut off immediately with no warning. I went inside, plugged it into my computer and it came up as an iPhone. Update is grayed out, and restore brings up "Software for this iPhone is currently not available"
Ive tried re-installing the ipsw for the 2g iPod touch and it comes up that the firmware is not compatible.

Experience with greenpois0n ended up leaving me stuck at greenpois0n initialized.

Will enter DFU but will not restore.

Refuses to enter recovery mode.

Tried iRecovery, Ziphone, Greenpois0n, RedSn0w, Blackra1n, Limera1n. Nothing has worked so far.

RedSn0w leaves me at Waiting for reboot

Not sure where to go from here.

And dont tell me to go buy another iPod please, I have two others I just dont like my expensive paperweight.

Righto, let's see. I couldn't figure out which version exactly you mean, so I'll just try to sum it up for all versions:

For UTJB we recommend the latest official version of UT, which is v436, though the unofficial versions like v451 should work as well.
For JB2003/4 we recommend the latest official versions UT2003 v2225 and UT2004 v3369, respectively. The unofficial UT2004 G15 patch v3372 will work as well.
For UT3 Jailbreak you should have UT3 patched up to v2.1 and ideally have the Titan pack installed as well. Jailbreak itself will work without the Titan pack, but some of the maps require Titan pack content.

Hope that helps figuring out what went wrong.

Almost forgot: In case you were talking about "Jailbreak: Source" or "Jailbreak: Prisoners of War", we can't provide any support for that as those are made by different teams with their own websites.
