Attrition v0.5pb
Name: Attrition
Version: v0.5pb Compatibility: UT3 1.20 Description: The idea behind this gametype was a war of attrition so everything featured is geared towards that. To win though you have to make a kill with every weapon once, you start with all weapons and they are removed from your inventory as you make a kill with them. Suicides will return a weapon back to your inventory unless it is already full. There is a catch, you have unlimited ammo and all pickups are removed except, Jumpboots, Vials, Armour, Shields and the Keg. In this gametype frags dont really matter a great deal, except they are a way to get rid of your weapons! This gametype is best suited for lower player counts, around the 2-4 range is really good but anywhere between 2-8 should make for good matches as it really does depend on the size of the map and how many rounds you want to play. Anyways this is still an early version and not fully feature complete, there is acouple of bugs Im aware of that I'll work to fix in the future. Im mainly putting this up so everyone can take a look at let me know what they think of it ![]() I will say this though, there is no team based version of this mode planned for the future, if there is enough interest in that I will consider making a multi-team version. There is however more victory conditions on the way, as well as acouple of variants I'll probably attach as mutators. Features: Health/Armour Degen - after these are picked up they start to wear in, then over time they wear out and break down. Wear only occurs over 100 health and always on armour, except the starting armour. Round Based Play - at the moment it only supports winning the match by getting to the rounds won, so if you win 3 rounds, in any order first, you are the winner. More victory conditions are on their way though, like playing out an amount of rounds no matter what and the player with the most wins at the end is the winner. Anti-Camper - This was put in because of the unlimited ammo, keeps people moving and makes the matches faster especially 1 on 1 matches. Since there is no time limit this was almost a requirement. Tweaked Music - To give more of an action feel the music was tweeked so it ramps up alot more. Tweaked HUD - Alot of the excess text was removed from the hud as well as tweaking to make it fit with the gametype. I will be updating this so people can customize alittle more and reallow acouple of the default options. So yeah dunno about that, basically the initial idea was to promote weapon skill across the board but after testing I found that selecting which weapon to make a kill with an when actually becomes alittle bit of a strategy. For eg, if you make a kill with all your best weapons first you are stuck with the ones you arnt so good with so its possible your opponent could get one up on you. From there though the idea turned into attrition, I removed all the pickups and slowly started adding them back until I got something I liked. The gametype does actually still have the option to roll with no pickups but it doesnt play out as well I dont think, the health and armour degeneration keep people moving around the map more. It just adds back in the element of map control which I think is important, there is also timing but I got a few features up my sleeve still for next release.

Ummz, can you elaborate alittle more please? These should only be loaded when attrition is selected so maybe something isnt getting reset on a gametype switch midgame, thats about all I can think of without more details though

I believe it was Mapmixer
You see I was using your mod with Mapmixer Alpha 5 sense install and as of late I have been noticing all kind of problems that all seem related to Mapmixer. Problems like keys getting lost, settings getting reset and Character problems like character information getting lost(not the demo guy). As a result, please allow me to test your mod without it and see if the problem continues.

Yeah Ive been having troubles getting mapmixer going myself, I cant even get to the using it part
![]() If I can replicate the problem though I might be able to fix it on my end, it could a problem with mapmixer not my code but I'll take a look and see what I can do about supporting it.

Gun Game is a popular custom gametype for Counter Strike Source (and possibly other games, but that's the only game I've seen it in).
However, the OG Gun Game doesn't have unlimited ammo, the music/UI tweaks, the health degen or anti-camper.
