Other than that you'll be modding demo of inferior build of the engine, breaking EULA and committing career suicide, no, there is no problem.

You can convince people by modding UT2004 just as well. Just make sure your mod only uses the base packages Core, Engine, IpDrv, etc. that are also present in the Runtime.
