How would I create a reflective fluid surface?

There are (so far) three techniques I know about this and not all of them ascertain success.

The first one is that you create and ordinary floor and check the texture flag "Mirror". After that, create a sheet over the mirror and place in a water texture. Make the sheet's texture translucent in the texture properties. This technique is recommended only if that body of water is inaccessible by players.

The second one is that you after you create a room, add a translucent sheet with a water texture on the floor and make a mimicry of the room above the water's surface totally mirrored below. Like the first one, this technique is done for inaccessible areas. This second tech may sound useless and only makes the first one harder but with the second tech, you can actually control the lighting of the underwater surface making it look more fluid.

The third one is that you create a mesh...

Wait a minute... I'm not so sure about how this mesh thing goes but someone should know.

Also, like I said, not all these suggestions work but at least they'd put you on the right track.
