UT Postal Babes

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzJ5ct2w5UU

Postal Babes is a mod that spawns dancers around the highest scoring player at the end of the map. Yeah, it's been done before and you've seen it in 2k4 and UT3 but I've been meaning to get it properly done for UT for quite some time.

This mod allows dynamic loading of the dancer's textures as well as the music that is played at the end. You simply change the reference line in the ini file and the dancers will skin out with whatever you choose (like a clan skin). Same for the music, you can create your own sound package and hear whatever floats your boat.

The mod is self-contained and you do not need to add the Abbey model to the server or have it locally. Big thanks to RunningWithScissors for allowing their ideas to get totally ripped off and to Ferali for helping me sort out dynamic loading.

Source code is included and as always it's yours to do with as you please. Changing the dancer to another model wouldn't be hard, it's just finding good animations to use that's so tricky. That's why I used the Abbey, it had some kind-of-cool anims to use on the dancers.

If someone would want to animate a stock UT model with some good dance anims I'd gladly update this mod and include them. I just have very little animation experience.

Enjoy

You do realise that now this UT99 mod is now better than the 2K4 version.
Gotta love progression.

I have replaced the download with the original texture package. Rob, you can download the texture only here:
http://utrustedplayer.com/gopostal/U...esTextures.zip
and just discard the "A" version, it crashes older renderers.

Well, I guess that answers that doesn't it Flay? Damn, I was hoping it would work for everyone.

@Rob
Can you tell us which renderer (and version) you are using?
and are compessed textures etc. enabled in your ini file?

Sorry, I meant which version of the renderer.
Ah, well if you are using the original base renderer, you probably are using D3DDrv.
If you don't switch on AGPTextures, you can't use any S3TC compressed textures in any map or model.
If you have the GOTY edition this should be on, as the extra CD contains S3TC texture packs.
Also they are faster to copy to RAM and take less space in you GFX card.

It is well worth updating to newer GFX renders, if you have not.

Yeah, I've never worried about doing this before. I will try. Thanks for the links.
