Official PuF-RA:UT Tournament Brackets and Info

For those of you who haven't signed up, read http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~unreal/u...ML/007783.html for more information on the Official PuF-RA:UT Tournament, then signup by e-amiling me at the66thdopefish@mediaone.net. You can signup until 11:59 EST next Sunday (the 4th).

I know this was originally supposed to be secret, but that fell apart faster than an Ethiopian nucler bomb (who knows

). So, here are the brackets, as they stand now. BTW, when Blender gets moving, these will be here: http://rabracket.homestead.com . Remember, these were made in order of which people signed up. Also, for those of you who don't know, this is going to start in mid-June, be on Rooster's server, and the winner of each match goes on by winning a best 4 out of 7 series with their opponent. You win 1 game by winning 4 out of 7 rounds in your match. Get it? Good. Here are the brackets.

Personally I'm looking forward to the Boom vs WAnk match.

If the Boomster has his new vidcard by then, WAnk would be well advised to ph34r him.

Boom at 30fps with a shock rifle is not to be messed with, as I saw myself this weekend.

And Shadow: don't be scared....

I haven't played RA yet. Altho again....be wary of anything that gives me a fully loaded sniper rifle to start with. YEEEHA!!!

BTW, Blender devised another way of doing the matches. You know how all the RA maps each have 5 arenas? Well, we could utilize each one by having the players play in each map once. So not only will you have to win 4 out of 7 to win a match, and 4 out of 7 to win a game, now you'll have to win in 3 out of 5 maps! Now no one will not have fun! IT'S THE ULTIMATE ROCKET ARENA TOURNAMENT! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thx Troll. I am becoming quite the comboho... once I run out of rockets that is.

Don't build me up too much though. You failed to mention even with my new framerate you still beat me about 10 matches straight. Maybe they weren't the same kinda spankings I was getting last week, but you still got my number.

Last time I went 1on1 with WAnk I finished with a negative score

Ummm, I just realized....

You gotta win best of 7 rounds to win a game, then best of 7 games to move up the ladder.

That means you have to win a minimum of 16 rounds to move up on the ladder??

And you might actually have to play 49 rounds for each level of the ladder????

Let me say that again...

We might have to each actually play 49 rounds for each level of the ladder????? One round can take up to 5 minutes or so... That's a long long time. Even if you assume an average of a 3 minute round (which I think may be kinda low), and an average of 30 rounds per match, you still get an hour and a half for each match. A close match that goes into 40 rounds with an average of 5 minute rounds would take over 3 hours. Heck, even a total slaughter is going to take over a half an hour. I think we should try to work it out so the average match is about 20 minutes to a half an hour.

Maybe we should rethink this a little bit. I don't play enough RA to know, but I think this might take too long for each match.

Anyway, this is just something to think about. I'm not trying to take over here or anything, just putting this out there to see what ya think about it

Boom: the idea of this huge format is to get people both familiar with the tactics or Rocket Arena and to have them leaving exhausted as hell.

Besides, you didn't add in the fact that we're doing this for each map in an arena.

My advice: don't think of it like that.

Just try to have fun and let Blender, Rooster, and I do the officiating.
