Honestly, when objectives are not your concern and you just want to shoot and kill (frags) then there are so many games out there just for this. Why bother with INF?

Because it was a unique, fast paced TDM shooter with accurate, interesting controls, fun maps, and furious gameplay. Not quite instagib, but just the same kind of thrill. Not exactly what the Inf team promoted it as, but still a ton of fun for the right people.

There are entire games made just for people who enjoy TDM and fast paced action, I for one refuse to believe that the by-product of a realism mod is better than those.

LOL.

w8t i just want to c if ne1 has sum c00l h4x so i can pwn some n00bs!

Anyway, the lack of community is what has really killed Inf for me. Back in the day, you could jump on any server at almost any time and have some fun...robar hipping or no. Now if you're lucky, you get to play EAS on some random crappy looking custom map with 2 other people and a bot.

As usual, lurkers who don't play have no idea what they are talking about. Saturday night had big EAS action (the 4th time this week I've played EAS games).

Here's a screen:

Whatever, all I know is, the last time I tried to get back into Inf, the biggest game I got was only about 8 people, for 1 or 2 games. Then it disolved into the aforementioned "3 people and a bot", and other times, all the servers were empty.

Back in the 2.86 days there were usually atleast 2-3 servers busy with atleast around 16 players, and IIRC I even went on once on a monday morning when I didn't have class and found a busy game.

Maybe I'll install it once again and see if the servers are any busier, but I'm not going to expect to see a full browser.

Servers have reached max capacity, but unlike the 2.86 days, it's not at Max 24/7. It looks like it's more a once a week thing, if the moon is aligned right and the celestial winds are moving in a counter spin pattern.
