Forum regulars: what questions do you hate getting asked?

In an effort to provide you, the UT forum regulars, a forum with fewer repeated questions (so that you won't have to unleash your fury upon poor newbies :D), I have come up with an idea (with the help of hal) to create a thread to answer the most commonly asked questions we get about UT. I will try my best to answer these questions, and if I'm at a loss, you guys can help me. This thread will be stuck to the top of this section, and maybe you won't have to answer those questions very much any more. :D Think of this as my way to give back to you guys. :)

So, I already know a couple questions we'd probably love to have in our FAQ thread (what are aimbots/what is CSHP, how can I get Xan are the ones I can answer myself), but this can all be more productive and PuF-friendly if I have your input as well. :)

??????????????????

Lord help Me Jesus Please!
Are should I say regulars?
I wish I knew all there was to know about the Great game of UT.
And I do mean GREAT GAME.............
I'd be glad to answer the question that were asked. But being
what I still call a newbie 1.5 years with UT I'm still in the learning
stage and will likely never know everything there is to know. But
thank goodness I can come into this forum and ask (Regulars) all
the questions I don't know, not that I'll ever ask another being
that I might be bothering someone. If you -------How did you put it
(REGULARS) get so tired of answering the same questions from
Newbies or people that do not understand how to use this forum
as good as you because they do not live here like some fokes,
DO NOT REPLY!--------DO NOT READ!--------DO NOT HELP!--------
DO NOTHING! because I would not want you to be put out!
Lord help me Jesus please! I'm ashamed of you. And if I hurt
someones feeling ------I AM SORRY, I REALLY AM! But you do not
know how much this hurt.

Sorry I bothered you.

How do I play a demo?
How does one take a screenshot?

This is NOT about us in the first place. PuF is a friendly place for newbies.
But if we make one thread or a FAQ with the combined knowledge we have, a person can answer this question much faster than having to ask in 20 threads. So he will benefit from it too

Look, let me explain this. The question is worded that way, because many of you seem to truly hate seeing certain questions asked.

Hopefully everyone can win here. With some of the more common questions being answered at the top of the page, it'll give you a place to send newcomers and it will help answer many of their questions without having to be embarassed to ask them.

The thought being that something could be done to help everyone out.

Seen this before. Forum FAQ. previous try here didn't get followed through either.

Will it work? Dunno. Most people would rather do a quick post and get a quick answer rather than read through an FAQ or "search the boards"

The PuF webpage has some good ones on it. Start there. A thread with links posted to the top, much like hal has would be cool.

As many times I've answered certain questions. I always like to look down the page. If I see a topic near the bottom with zero replies, I will go to it and answer it to the best of my ability. Even if I ask for clarification on something I don't know, at least it'll get a bump. I hate to see an unreplied topic...unless of course the topic's just plain spammy or st00pid or stuff like that.

According to what I read here there really is no need for the UT forum anymore other than to have it around for the Forum search. Everything HAS been covered and the rest is OT :D

Well, telling someone to Search the Forums is kind of an indirect way of saying, "I don't have the time or the patience to answer your question so I'lll have you go through the tedium of having to find your answers yourself." I hope to alleviate that by this FAQ thread.

What's more, the FAQ is never ending; it can be added to at any time.

I think dopefish's idea is good.
But perhaps there should be more pointers to the great works that have been painstakingly compiled and created by PUF residents and others.
THe big documents
Like cleaners UT bible and UT inox's guide etc.
These answer a lot of questions on all different subjects.

It should be placed on top of the forummainpage and/or on top of each threadlist

It should read something like this:

NEWBIES GO HERE
(list follows with relevant adresses of documents)

thats it, thats it,thats it

Amen to that, m0.

I think this is a great idea, but how come it didn't work last time?

btw, I don't think "NEWBIES GO HERE" sounds so good. Kinda patronizing imo. Maybe sumthing like "All of U whom are new to this forum".

Same here :)

I'm not tired of answering questions, but I have to do some research on certain topics too from time to time. A FAQ gives everyone a data base to draw from. We could also just copy parts of the FAQ in an answer and then give the link

Like cleaners UT bible and UT inox's guide etc.
Good idea, and I think that's planned. But Cleaner's FAQ and the UT Bible are two different sites
