What Tolkien Officially Said About Elf Sex
Good and Bad News About Elf Libidos

The good news is that elves like sex. “The union of love is indeed to them great delight and joy.” (LACE) The bad news is that elves tend to lose interest in sex after they’ve had kids. “With the exercise of the power (of generation), the desire soon ceases, and the mind turns to other things…they have many other urges of body and of mind which their nature urges them to fulfil.” They do look back happily on the sexually-active time in their lives, though, a period of one to several hundred years. (LACE) Also, “they are seldom swayed by the desires of the body only, but are by nature continent and steadfast.” (LACE) Sorry....

Well that's pretty good to know in case I ever get around to pen & paper roleplaying with female players.

Interesting that it was never mentioned in PJ's LOTR that Elrond himself is half-elven. I forget which parent was human.
Elrond and his brother Elros were the children of the man Beren and the Elf Luthien. They were able to choose whether they wanted mortal life of men or immortal life of Elves - one chose each way. The men who were descended from Elros enjoyed very long life - Aragorn himself is a direct line descendant of Elros.

I had forgotten that from the LOTR mythos...

That might have made some nice character development for Elrond, explaining to the audience his waning faith in humanity... or why Aragorn knows so much about the elves... and etc.
