I guess what we can learn from this election is that

1) If you're going to try to run for office, and you barely have a plan, then California is your best bet.

2) Guys named Gray dont match up to guys named Terminator when it comes to appeal.

3) When your opponents include a porn star and someone who is 4 feet 8 inches tall, accusations of womanizing bounce right off.

I'm not really into politics other than who's in the white house, so really I dont care either way. Its nice that a guy who immigrated here with nothing could become governor though I guess.

any thoughts?

among the 135 running for governor, Arnold was probably one of the most serious.
And I find utterly stupid that people attacked it on what he has done when he was young :con: I'm pretty sure his opponents have done just as bad as him.

California is apparently the sixth largest economy in the world, and is probably more important than most people think. That Arnie managed to come to power is a very, very bad thing.

I think its fun and I'm glad he won. Who is to say he won't actually be a good governor. With the right advisors, even BubbaBoBobBurskins could be a good governor.

Of course...I forgot that simply because someone is an actor and bodybuilder, they automatically have NO ability in politics whatsoever.

Thank you for enlightening me as to American politics, Mickey. Shall I give you my discourse on the politics of Northern Ireland?

He is trying to stop the exportation of all Hollywood movies to Canada, he claims Canadians are stealing their profits. Do you still think he has any political knowledge whatsoever?

That's the point, Derelan. He's not part of 'the system'. That's a large part of his appeal. Of course he'll have his own personal views on the fitness of california for movies...he's an actor. On the other hand, he's also a successful businessman. He's not an idiot. No idiot could have acomplished what he has in his lifetime. He may be rich and well known, and that's probably the reason he was elected. However, that doesn't mean he's any less fit to be a governer than you, I, or the tons of backstabbing ******* politicians that came before him.

No need, I already did:

See, Americans can deal with stereotypes and make deragatory comments just as well as anyone.

You seem to be struggling with basic comprehension of Engish. Care to point out the use of stereotype in this comment?

Perhaps you should be less defensive. Why do you take someone who makes a general comment about a political system in your country as a personal insult, to be met with the suggestion that I go kill some nuns on a bus? Are you that irrevocably nationalist and patriotic that you cannot distinguish such comment from a personal attack on you?

Sad really.

Certainly, Id like to hear it. Open another thread and we can discuss it, including the various failings of all sides of the political spectrum and systems. :)
